A lot of arguing about procedural stuff:
Draft agendas. Some councilors wanted to get agenda drafts in advance of public posting, but ultimately voted to keep things as they are.
Agenda referral list. Some councilors wanted the agenda referral list to be included with the regular meeting agenda. It was giving me physical pain to listen to Council President Duhamel try to articulate himself over this and, frankly, I kinda tuned out. They voted to keep things as they are, so I absorbed the psychic damage for nothing. Think about that the next time you skim this newsletter!
Executive session minutes. For councilors Aiello, LaPietra, and Van Dover, this is a hill worth dying on: getting the executive session minutes drafts sent to them personally instead of coming into town hall to read them before voting to approve them. This ongoing tantrum consumed far more time than reading the minutes ever would have. It was embarrassing to watch; they are so determined to show their constituents how little effort they want to put in. Who is this for?
Somehow this meeting managed the surpass four hours. A bullet point per hour!
